Lochsa Engineering is providing the civil and flood control design for the Las Vegas Valley regional master-planned flood control facility to convey the Pittman Wash tributary through the Century Steel, Inc property in the City of Henderson. The design efforts include floodplain management to satisfy the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) design requirement within the Pittman Wash tributary floodplain (Zone A), hydrologic analysis of the watershed contributing to the Wash and hydraulic design of the 1800lf of 32ft(width) x 8ft(depth) and 43ft x 8ft concrete channel. The channel design satisfies FEMA, Clark County Regional Flood Control District (CCRFCD) and City of Henderson design requirements. The design efforts also included civil and structural design of the entire channel, headwall, transition and junction structures. Additional Civil and Infrastructure design included a new public road and the relocation of sanitary sewer mains.
