Opening its first store in 1992 in Wayne, Pennsylvania, Anthropologie is known for its focus on women’s fashion, accessories, and home décor. Today the store operates over 100 locations in the United States and nearly 200 in countries worldwide.

Most of the Anthropologie locations utilize existing facilities which are retrofitted, renovated, and/or remodeled to create an elaborate and urban ambiance. Each project comes with its own challenges as each template is diverse in nature, given the history of some of the structures. Many modifications are required in the structural design and construction of each store to ensure all Anthropologie store façades and interior experiences are unique and unlike any of the sister stores.

Lochsa Engineering provides the structural engineering (i.e. design and detailing) and construction administration services nationwide. On this particular project, Lochsa Engineering provided interior TI consisting of light gauge walls, soffits, new entry facade for the store’s space and a new skylight in an existing roof.
