HANI NOSHI PH.D. P.E.
Title: Principal
Location: Las Vegas, NV
Education: Cairo University, Bachelor of Science, Civil Engineering | Colorado State University, Master of Science, Civil Engineering (Hydraulics) | Colorado State University, Ph.D., Civil Engineering (Hydraulics)
Upon graduating from Cairo University in Egypt, Dr. Noshi practiced multiple civil engineering disciplines to determine which discipline would provide him the greatest career challenge. He applied his education working as a construction engineer, geotechnical engineer, quality control engineer, computer programmer, and hydraulic engineer. It was at the National Water Research Center Dr. Noshi found his niche in hydrology engineering. There he was able to carry out investigations and research work correlating with agricultural lands; proposed measures for environmentally sound development of the irrigation and drainage systems in Cairo; and discover ways to utilize water resources of Egypt in the most efficient and cost effective manner. In 1991, Dr. Noshi received a Fellowship from Colorado State University to earn his M.S.C. degree in Hydraulic Engineering, and in 1993 received a scholarship to earn his Ph.D. degree in the same field. As a Research Associate at the University of Louisiana in Lafayette, Dr. Noshi was a co-project director/principal investigator for multiple hydraulic and hydrologic modeling projects throughout Louisiana and along the Gulf of Mexico.
In 2001, he made the transition from the academic world of research to begin his career as the manager of the Flood Control and Drainage Department for Lochsa Engineering. He has since been involved in numerous flood control designs and master planning for a wide spectrum of projects. His most monumental project, thus far, is ONE Las Vegas, in which he and his team provided the flood control design for the 20-acre tower condominiums as well as the design of the Clark County Regional Flood Control District master-planned storm drain. His other projects cover various land development improvements, flood control facilities and hydraulic structures, historical floodplain designations, roadways and public facilities, parks, school and college campuses, residential, and government developments. Dr. Noshi also specializes in planning, executing and managing various design aspects of multi-discipline civil engineering projects, financial tracking, field investigations, hydraulic design/modeling, and hydrological modeling. In addition, he coordinates with various local, state, and federal entities with detailed reporting. He also is the author of several peer reviewed publications and technical reports.
