Structural Designer
Role
Lochsa Engineering has an opportunity for a qualified Structural Designer to join our structural team. Candidates will have an opportunity to work on a variety of buildings and construction types for concrete, masonry, steel, wood, cold-formed steel, high seismic and high wind load structures. You will be a contributing team member performing engineering related work with internal and external disciplines during planning, design and construction administration phases of projects.
Responsibilities
- Performs standard engineering analysis and design for basic structural elements with guidance from a Project Engineer or Project Manager
- Assist Project Engineers and Project Managers with analysis and design of more advanced structural elements and components
- Coordinate with BIM staff on development of construction documents
- Contractor assistance with interpretation of construction documents and resolution of field issues
- Review shop drawings
Requirements
- Engineer in Training (EIT) or Engineering Intern (EI) certification
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Civil/Structural Engineering
- Ability to perform structural analysis using conventional hand-calculation methods and software
- Working knowledge of current industry software, including ETABS, SAP, RAM Structural System, RAM Concept, RISA, SAFE, AutoCAD, Revit, is preferred.
- Familiarity with current building codes and adopted standards
- Positive and professional attitude with excellent verbal and written communication skills to effectively communicate with co-workers and clients in person or virtually.
- U.S. Citizen, U.S. Resident with a valid green card, or legally authorized to work in the U.S.
